This publication accompanies the exhibition 𝙁𝙍𝙊𝙕𝙀𝙉 𝙂𝘼𝙕𝙀, a solo exhibition by ZO SUN HI held at Museum Hanmi Samcheong Annex. It includes works from the artist’s ongoing 𝘍𝘙𝘖𝘡𝘌𝘕 𝘎𝘈𝘡𝘌 series, which she has been developing since 2018. In this series, the artist photographs dead birds frozen in ice. Through the act of 'freezing,' she confronts emotions that had remained suspended due to her inability to accept her father’s death, exploring the residual feelings that cannot be articulated through language by means of the photographic medium. Alongside the artist’s note, the book features a curatorial essay by Sunyoung KIM, Senior Curator at Museum Hanmi, who organized the exhibition, as well as a critical text by Phil LEE, Professor at Hongik University. Together, these writings offer a deeper critical interpretation of ZO SUN HIi’s artistic practice and the exhibition.
