7월 문화가 있는 날을 맞아 진행되는 어린이 프로그램 〈사진 속 친구들에게 보내는 시〉는 미국 뉴욕에서 다문화 교육을 실천해온 교육자 아야나 로웨의 책 『얘들아, 이리와 놀자』에서 영감을 받아 기획되었습니다. 이 책은 이번 전시 《포토북 속의 매그넘 1943-2025》의 리딩룸에서도 만나보실 수 있습니다.

세계 곳곳 어린이들의 놀이와 일상을 담은 매그넘 사진을 함께 감상하며 아이들은 상상력을 발휘해 자신만의 시를 지어봅시다. 서로 다른 문화 속에서도 통하는 어린이들 간의 공감과 표현의 즐거움을 나누는 따뜻한 시간이 되기를 기대합니다.

In conjunction with July’s Culture Day, the children’s program Poems to Friends in the Photos is inspired by Come and Play: Children of the Worlds Full of Joy by educator Ayana Lowe, who has been implementing multicultural education in New York, USA. This book is also available in the reading room of the current exhibition Magnum Between Pages 1943-2025.

While exploring Magnum photographs that capture children’s play and everyday lives across the globe, participants will use their imaginations to compose their own poems. We hope this will be a warm and joyful time where children can share the pleasure of expression and empathy that transcends cultural boundaries.
