조현택(1982~)은 도시와 비도시의 경계와 주변에서 일어나는 사건의 얼굴과 그 속에서 발생하는 기이한 한국적 풍경을 드러낸다. 작가 자신이 전남의 작은 시골 마을에서 성장한 배경과도 관련이 있으며, 카메라를 든 사람으로서 동시대에 사진 매체를 어떻게 활용하고 확장해 나갈 수 있을지를 고민한다.

CHO Hyun-Taek reveals the faces of events that occur on and around the boundaries of urban and non-urban areas, and the strange Korean landscape that emerges within them. His work is related to his own upbringing in a small rural village in Jeollanam-do, and as a photographer, he considers how to utilize and expand the medium of photography in contemporary times.
