1987년 서울에서 태어나 현재 서울과 광주를 기반으로 활동하고 있다. 사진을 단순한 기록의 도구가 아닌, 신체와 사물이 지각되는 방식을 재구성하는 ‘변환 장치’로 간주하며 작업한다. 이를 통해 물리적 현실과 디지털 세계 사이에 존재하는 물질성과 비물질성의 간극을 면밀히 탐구하고, 새로운 감각적 경험의 가능성을 모색한다. 광학 기술의 발전으로 세계는 신체를 통해 직접 지각되는 방식에서 벗어나, 사진과 디지털 스크린을 매개로 다시 경험되는 구조로 전환되었다. 이러한 매개 과정은 경험의 층위를 확장시키는 동시에, 신체와 사물 간의 관계를 재정의한다. 작가는 이 변화의 양상에 주목하며, 매체가 지각의 형식을 어떻게 재편하는지 탐구한다.

Born in Seoul in 1987, YUN currently lives and works between Seoul and Gwangju.

He regards photography not as a mere tool of documentation, but as a “conversion apparatus” that reconstructs the way bodies and objects are perceived. Through this approach, his work probes the gap between materiality and immateriality that exists between physical reality and the digital realm, seeking new possibilities for sensory experience.

With the advancement of optical technologies, the world has shifted away from direct bodily perception toward an experience mediated by photography and digital screens. This mediation not only expands the layers of perception but also redefines the relationship between body and object. YUN focuses on this transformation, examining how media reorganize the structure of perception itself.

His practice centers on expanding the experimental boundaries of photography at the intersection of bodily sensation, objects, data, and contemporary modes of representation.
