Museum Hanmi presents 𝙔𝙊𝙊𝙆 𝙈𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙢 • 𝙃𝘼𝙉 𝘾𝙝𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙠 • 𝙋𝘼𝙍𝙆 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙤𝙤𝙠 at Museum Hanmi Samcheong Main Building from March 27 to July 19, 2026. This exhibition honors three artists who expanded the horizons of Korean contemporary photography through distinct perspectives and approaches. Centered on major series from the Museum Hanmi collection, the exhibition revisits and illuminates the artistic worlds of these three photographers.
YOOK Myongshim captured a wide spectrum of individuals who have shaped Korean society, most notably through his series 𝘉𝘢𝘦𝘬𝘮𝘪𝘯, constructing a cultural and spiritual portrait of an era. HAN Chungshik, through his series 𝘎𝘰𝘺𝘰, presented nature and landscapes within restrained compositions, offering moments of contemplation and quiet reflection through the language of photography. PARK Youngsook, in her early series 𝘗𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝟥𝟨 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴, closely observed the faces of figures from her time, recording not only the individuality of each subject but also the broader currents of the era that shaped their lives.
By bringing together the works of these three artists—whose practices unfold along different axes such as portrait and nature, documentation and reflection—the exhibition traces the layered passage of time accumulated within Korean photography. It serves as a commemorative space to reconsider their artistic legacies and reflect on their enduring contributions from a contemporary perspective.
